HALO STUDY

Sphaera Research, using a methodology created and by Partners for Sacred Places, who are working with St. Paul’s on our future project, have completed an economic valuation study called the Economic Halo Effect of St. Paul’s. The Halo Study asks, “if St. Paul’s disappeared and the city had to provide all of these benefits themselves, how much would it cost?” Based on a careful analysis of assets and programs, it was determined that:

  • In total, the the Halo effect of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church to the City of Hamilton is $727,718 a year.

  • The wider community receives $2.28 in economic benefits for every dollar St. Paul’s spend on its annual expenses,

  • On average, each member of St. Paul’s, through their financial giving and volunteering, generates $13,231 of economic value to the larger community annually .
